Our Mighty Yaya Film Trailer Review

Our Mighty Yaya 2017 Regal Films family comedy movie featuring Ai-Ai Delas Alas, Lucas Magallano, and Alyson McBride

What can be said about Our Mighty Yaya (2017) official movie trailer? Well, it is your typical light-hearted family film focusing on an exemplary nanny for children belonging to an uptight high class family. But of course, to emphasize the uniqueness of this role model of a nanny, they have to make her look ghoulish by making her skin tone darker, an improper set of teeth, and lacking the necessary education... everything of what you can expect from your stereotypical nanny figure from the province (caricature for comedic effect because why not). Well the only difference is that it is not mainly a dramatic film but don't misinterpret it as so as most of these kinds of film will have its fair share of moments that will thug on the heartstrings as what is expected of movies under this theme. The film will join the ranks of other nanny-themed titles like Anak (2000), Inang Yaya (2006), Yaya and Angelina: The Spoiled Brat Movie (2009), and the internationally screened and acclaimed "Ilo Ilo" (2013).

Our Mighty Yaya 2017 comedy film showing on May 10, 2017 directed by Jose Javier Reyes starring Ai-Ai Delas Alas and Beverly Salviejo as nannies in this family film

Initially, I thought that there would be more of this film under this theme (the exemplary nanny stories), but to my surprise only a few came from my basic search; that this genre of (family) drama was done to death just like the rich guy-poor girl or rich girl-poor guy romantic films. Or maybe that is just that, many of the films that we have seen usually from romance and horror have these basic stereotype. Or maybe ABS-CBN's popular "Please Be Careful With My Heart" television series has grown on everyone. Well at least that daytime soap didn't had the audacity to stereotype the nannies as uneducated ghoulish looking one. Maybe, most of those belonging to the middle class, and upper class grew up with nannies and can entirely relate to this theme. Even if they belong to the lower class, if they themselves are a nanny or their family member is an actual nanny, maybe this is what makes it relatable to them. The question is do the ugly nanny with a heart of gold makes for an interesting and entertaining film? Well, that is what might (or might not) be answered on Our Mighty Yaya. We'll make sure to observe and make a criticism of that as the years past by or if the local film studios decides to start milking such themes as from what we have seen so far they "mostly have been on the look out to revolutionize" film making in the Philippines..

My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore Film Trailer Review

My Bebe Love KiligPaMore 2015 aldub romantic comedy debut film featuring kilig momemnts of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza aka Yaya Dub

What can be said about the My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore official movie trailer? Well it is the debut film of the very popular AlDub (or MaineDen) love team from the Kalyeserye segment of the Philippine's longest running noontime variety show Eat Bulaga. That is basically the biggest catch and hype for this 2015 MMFF romantic comedy film; that this is the first movie where fans will see Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza outside of their usual Kalyeserye (Eat Bulaga) character as Alden and Yaya Dub. The My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore teaser trailer was first released on the Tamang Panahon concert which filled Philippines biggest indoor arena, The Philippine Arena and broke previous trending records in Twitter. Given such facts, one can safely say that My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore will be an instant blockbuster this 41st Metro Manila Film Festival.

My Bebe Love KiligPaMore 41st MMFF entry 2015 Aldub or MaineDem rom-com debut movie with Vic Sotto and Ai-Ai de las Alas love team

Now that we have gotten some basic facts out of the way, we now come down to the juicier part, the story. Just humor me. Have you ever encountered a local romantic film that featured two couple so in love with each other but the only problem is their families which is completely against it? Yup, I guess so. Well, there are variation to this cliched theme which could either lead to a good or bad (tragic) ending. Obviously, My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore is going for the latter with a dead giveaway that Vic Sotto (Maine's father in the film) eventually falling for Ai-Ai de las Alas (Alden's aunt in the film) which will eventually give their approval in the end. One can argue that it is not the destination, but more of the journey itself is what is worth experiencing and this is why this movie will be successful. Eat Bulaga's marketing influence and pair it up with the "kilig" factor brought by the on-screen team-up is what fans will be looking forward to see in this seemingly formulaic film once it hits December 25, 2015. The "look" of the film through this official trailer feels so underwhelming as it is of low-quality or maybe there will be a bump up to the overall picture quality and cinematography once it is on theaters, but for now this looks and shouts low quality and budget. I can compare or equate this film to another 2015 MMFF entry, Haunted Mansion. Haunted Mansion, which by the way has better cinematography from its trailer alone, will also debut another love team (MarNella), but instead of using the romcom genre like My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore, Haunted Mansion will be using horror. Both have cliched themes with a fresh coat of paint.

How about you guys? Are you looking forward to the first film of the AlDub love team? For a non-fan of Eat Bulaga or the Kalyeserye are you curious to see this given that you are a fan of romantic and romantic comedy film? What do you think of the AlDub love team in general now that it has reach this point from its initial August 2015 initial introduction to Eat Bulaga? No Boyfriend Since Birth Film Trailer Review

No Boyfriend Since Birth 2015 Regal Entertainment Inc starring Carla Abellana's character believing in destiny and thus why she had no boyfriend since birth because of Tom Rodriguez

So what can be said about the No Boyfriend Since Birth official movie trailer? As for the premise, it isn't really fresh or revolutionizing. I can think mainly of two outcomes pertaining to the end of the film, either they end up together or not. I feel that it could be the latter which will give the film a more compelling twist - that not everyone whom you fall in love is "destined" to be your life partner no matter how much you wait for them. But! This could go the usual route and have a happy generic one.

No Boyfriend Since Birth 2015 Regal rom-com featuring ToCarl Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana romantic comedy about destiny and nbsb

No Boyfriend Since Birth has features two likable on-screen couple and lead with Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez, who both got their on-screen pairing and wind from the revolutionary (for a Filipino television soap that is), My Husband's Lover. Their on-screen pairing plus some "witty" screenwriting could make this film into another blockbuster rom-com. Filipinos love seeing rom-com and this feels like it. Just a fresh coat of paint on an old wall is all it needs to weather the ever changing seasons.
