Wang Fam Film Trailer Review

What can be said about the Wang Fam official movie trailer? Wang Fam is a comedy film by Wenn V. Deramas and if you have followed the films by the "all-time blockbuster director" you'll know what exactly you are getting at. Wang Fam is a film about aswangs, well the good kind of course as it probably is hard to root for evil aswangs. Wang Fam is reminiscent of the American comedy horror film "The Adams Family" but only with aswangs. Although there is a scene in the trailer where there are human body parts hanging on the wall, if these are "real" human body parts, then that sure is messed up.

Well to the trailer's credit, I did manage to make me smirk at the immaturity of its humor. That's it really, immature humor as seen in past works by Wenn Deramas which you either love it or hate. This time Wenn Deramas gathers an ensemble of highly likable comedians, a teeny-bopper love team though Andre Paras and Yassi Pressman which covers the romantic comedy side of it; and a cute child actor Alonzo Muhlach (son of also former popular child star Niño Muhlach) to amp up the cuteness factor. Wang Fam definitely uses parody (of Twilight), and the usual stereotype comedy cliches in scenes and dumb (usually self-aware) characters. When watching this movie expect for the worst and hope for the best kind of entertainment.

How about you guys? What do you think of this 2015 aswang movie from Viva Films? Do you like Wenn Deramas films? what's your favorite? Share your thoughts and opinion about the wang Fam in the comments section below:

Sisteraka Film Trailer Review

ABS-CBN's three box office "queens" (yes, I already included Vice in the count) will be seen this 2012 MMFF with Star Cinema and Viva Films comedy entry entitled Sisterakas. Sisterakas mixes Ai-Ai and Vice with the direction of Wenn Deramas which potentially may result to another comic blockbuster. I just don't know if including Kris Aquino into this very unlikely genre will make it work for her?

There is always a first as most say. Seeing how she parody herself from the (horror) movies and tv show hosting references its either hit or miss. The main focus of the film is the relation of Ai-Ai and Vice so at least they got most of the comedy covered. We also have Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla which would bring the kilig and potentially the plot device that would potentially drive the two half-sisters into conflict or reconciliation. This is another comedy that doesn't take itself too seriously (and why should it). With classic face-to-face confrontation scene (shown in the trailer) where Vice offers an higher than usual rate for her unbeknownst sister and then Kris counters that offer with a more over-the-top salary and benefits just to get Ai-Ai to work for her indicates that this is one of those more familiar type of comedy (probably because it is from the same director) we've seen through the ages. Will it be smart? Maybe. But one thing is certain it looks more hilarious than the other 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival comedy entries.

How about you guys, what can you say about Kris Aquino being in this 2012 MMFF comedy film? Share your thoughts about Sisterakas official movie trailer in the comments section below:

This Guy's in Love with U, Mare Film Trailer Review

Star Cinema in partnership with Viva Films hit another gold by putting Vice Ganda and Tony Gonzaga in one mega comedy film, then add Luis Manzano as the object of both the lead character's affection then we have a blockbuster-in-the-making Star Cinema comedy film.

It is not hard not to like this film. If you love Vice Ganda as a comedian and adored Tony in her various roles in Star Cinema romantic movies, then it is a no-brainer you'll love this very unlikely team up. This Guy's in Love with U, Mare's falls victim to that scenario where trailer generally sums up the entire movie, but the film might get away with this. They can't show what this film has to offer without making the public have a sneak peak on what is can be seen in this film. What movie goers would be curious to see are the in-between scenes that would build up each of the character, and how would it all fall into place in the conclusion of this very unlikely love triangle. It is one of those Star Cinema comedy movies that picks up logic and throws it out the window but still manages to be enjoyable. A perfect example of an escapist's comedy film.

With the impressive marketing powers of the whole ABS-CBN television station backing the film up, not to mention its charming lead characters, this Vice Ganda October 2012 comedy flick will once again sell just like Praybeyt Benjamin did. The only question is, will this top the highest grossing Filipino film of all time? That is what we'll find out on October 10, 2012.

Moron 5 and The Crying Lady Film Trailer Review

Let's start of by defining what is a moron. "Moron" (in Psychology)is a term once used in psychology to denote mild mental retardation. It was once applied to people with an IQ of 51-70, being superior in one degree to "imbecile" (IQ of 26-50) and superior in two degrees to "idiot" (IQ of 0-25). Its informal meaning is a person who is notably stupid or lacking in good judgment. So with that definition, should you really expect more from a film about morons and a crying lady who isn't a real lady?

Comedy films are highly subjective. One movie goer may prefer one form of comedy, style, commedian or commedienne over the other. So I really can't claim that this film is going to be a disappointment. People who like this form of comedy will probably see this. In my honest opinion, Moron 5 And The Crying Lady is one those kinds of local films that would make you value your money... that you won't waste it on films that are not worth it. I found one fun moment on this trailer and that is the scene with John Lapus and Ate Glo, but the rest of the trailer is what you expect to see on a "standard" unintelligent Filipino comedy film. A film that knows its moronic sense of humor. Some people will find this charming. Most films are meant to be an escapist form entertainment, I just don't think this is one of the film that I can freely leave my mind behind and forget all logic. I'm still waiting for that potentially charming smart Filipino comedy film this year that doesn't have to be under the romantic film genre. Unfortunately, this film is not that kind of film. One thing is for sure though, I am not part of the Moron 5 and the Crying Lady's target audience.

How about you guys? what do you think about the humor and quality of this film based on its trailer? Are you willing to spend more than a hundred pesos to see this? Share your thoughts and opinion about Moron 5 And The Crying Lady trailer on the comments section below:
