Northern Lights: A Journey To Love (2017) Film Trailer Review
What can be said about Northern Lights: A Journey To Love (2017) official movie trailer? First off the film looks visually stunning and I think this is what is to be expected in one of the most prominent (if not the number one) film production company in the Philippines. But of course, the film's competency and watchability doesn't end up in cinematography alone. The question now is if whether Star Cinema's March 2017 film featuring Piolo Pascual any good? Well, the answer can only be known once you guys check it in theaters but from what we can make up from the trailer... it's probably decent. The film will join the ranks of other Star Cinema's films that has been majorly shot overseas/abroad like Milan, Barcelona, and Dubai.
So how does Northern Lights: A Journey To Love differ from the tens and thousands of romantic (romantic-comedy) films that Star Cinema has been "efficiently" producing as of recent memory? The answer is to add some real life element to it and that is in the form of estranged familial relationships. While having a care-free father winning over the hearts of his estranged son could have already been enough as a main driving plot, Star Cinema (or its writers) decides to go the romantic route and mix the unnecessary romantic interest (because, by the gods, you can't make a "good" Star Cinema film without romance). But it is what it is and the film's main theme seems to revolve around second chances and starting over again ergo mixing the estranged son and the heartbroken woman seems to be a perfect fit (?) (if you apply logic to it).
How about you guys? What do you think about this film about a father winning the heart of his estranged son and juggling a token romantic interest? Will you be seeing this film when it hits the theaters and why? What local films shot abroad that you genuinely liked and has become of your favorites?
