The Healing Film Trailer Review
The well-known horror film director Chito Roño is back with a collaboration with Star Cinema Productions and the Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos with the Healing. This time Star Cinema plays with the idea and puts the horror in the alternative "spiritual" form of medical treatment called faith healing. It seems like there is more to this faith healing than meets the eye as fatalities pile up one after the other.
The main plot is pretty standard in Philippine horror movies. A person or group of people shouldn't have done one act but still managed to go through it and then they suffer the consequences which seems to be the case with The Healing. A faith healer who once provided healing to the sick suddenly stops at what she is doing. To whether it is time to "recharge" her mystic powers of healing or she just decided to stop using this questionable power is probably the "curse" that befell those unfortunate people including the Batangas governor slash milk endorser (well her outfit reminds me of her milk commercials). How can this curse be lifted? Can they escape it? How will the film creep and spook the hell out of us? These are some of the questions raised by this trailer. There is no doubt that Mayor Vi will definitely deliver a top-notched performance in this film but more than that, the scares should be genuine and interesting. The scene where a woman's neck stretched to look at Vilma is a bit creepy. That scene from the trailer which reminds me of Japanese horror films I've seen in the past, and that is good. But we'll see what Star Cinema has in store for us with The Healing.
How about you guys, what can you say about the healing? What do you think about Roño using faith healing as a theme for his latest horror film? Share your thoughts about The Healing movie trailer in the comments section below.
