Luck At First Sight Film Trailer Review

Luck at First Sight 2017 Filipino film featuring Asia King of Drama Jericho Rosales

What can be said about Luck At First Sight (2017) official movie trailer? Well, this kinds of romance stories is a bit refreshing really. Refreshing in a sense that this has more fantasy elements on it versus your usual conveyor belt romantic films produced recently. It is no rich guy fall for the poor girl (or vice versa) or the family of the couple are against the protagonist's union. I think this is one way for film studios to shake things up a bit or at least explore for the romance genre. Quite refreshing that it didn't came from Star Cinema this time, but rather from Viva Films. I always wonder why most of the time there isn't any love given for screenwriters on these kinds of films? We should know who to thank for delivering us with these innovative scripts (or burn if the script sucks). They should be credited as much as the director does along with the actors; or if it is also written by the director at least let us know if it is written and directed by him.

Luck at First Sight 2017 viva films featuring Bela Padilla and Jericho Rosales love team about life charm, good luck, gambling, and falling in love

The fantastical element is highly unlikely to happen in real life. Because how can there really be a charm that raises a person's luck or people pairing up that would boost their luck to a ridiculous level to the point that they are winning any and every bet (gambling). But of course, this is what makes the script and film special; its ridiculous concept. That there is a condition that has to be met in order to maintain this good luck and no surprise that it is the film's major plot point. We all know that love will love will triumph all but the question is how will they lead up to that part? The film seems to also dabble on gambling which is a serious psychological case to some especially once they are addicted to it which by how the trailer shows us happened to at least one of the main characters (Jericho). Jerciho Rosales and Bela Padilla has good chemistry on-screen making it an appealing (to me) as a romantic film. I usually tend to be a bit indifferent (even a grinch) towards these kinds of movies and their respective trailers, but somehow, I actually like how the film is presented via this trailer. Hey, here is a thought! They should have gambled their luck on a lottery at the very beginning, but who knows it might be featured there as well either as their first attempt to test their luck out or the towards the culmination of the film to prove that falling in love doesn't affect their luck; but I am simply guessing how it will unfold... which is good by the way as it indicate that I am particularly interested in the film.

Always Be My Maybe Film Trailer Review

Always Be My Maybe 2016 Star Cinema romcom Gerald Anderson and Arci Muñoz dating scene

What can be said about the Always Be Maybe (2016) uncensored official movie trailer? Well it generally sums up what will everyone see in the entirety of the film which is an unconventional take on most modern relationships with a pinch of sexiness twinkle over its witty script. It is somewhat interesting to see that slow change is coming in mainstream media in interpreting relationship in films; to mix it up a bit. I am not saying it is revolutionary but this has its charms, although they are dredging through dangerous waters that is also prevalent in the Philippine conservative society. Everyone has an idea of how relationships should "be", but what is odd is that Philippine society listens and even considers most of this. What I am referring to opinion from a part of society consisting of mostly old men who have dedicated to a life of celibacy.

Always Be My Maybe 2016 Star Cinema sexy romantic comedy Gerald Anderson and Arci Muñoz sexy steamy love scene

It is worth noting that this is an uncensored trailer which means that it is too "risky" or "sexy" for Philippine television as it only show barely clothed protagonists. It is not like it is a redband trailer to an R-rated movie so what was the intention here? To make cash in on its adult theme to get the usual conservative society riled up to talk about it? Bad publicity is still publicity right? I am not complaining here, just curious. Always Be My Maybe plays around with how some relationships are nowadays; that amidst how society romanticize relationships, there will always be failed relationships leaving some people broken and mostly afraid of committing into a new one. Throw in a romcom script approved by a film production company that specializes making blockbuster romcoms and you a film that makes a "taboo" subject (to most people living in a conservative dreamland) be relevant and 'worth' talking about. Character dialogue (script) looks fun and having two attractive celebrities help, so why not check it out?

Walang Forever Film Trailer Review

Walang Forever 2015 mmff romantic comedy film entry vignette of people being asked if mayroon bang forever

So what can we say about the Walang Forever official first trailer? I find this trailer interesting as it doesn't really show much of what we can see in the film. The interview and testimonials could probably be in the film but it doesn't quite show the interaction between the lead. I find this a bit refreshing for a romantic comedy Filipino film trailer. I also give credit for the marketing team to release this trailer this October as it will be enough to build hype for the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival RomCom entry.

Walang Forever 2015 metro manila film festival entry romcom starring Jennylyn Mercado as Mia and Jericho Rosales as Ethan

The Walang Forever trailer features a series of vignette of people being interviewed about a relative and relevant(?) question "Mayroon bang Forever?" ("Is there a Forever?"). Well, of course the "forever" that is being referred to is that highly romanticized lasting love that transcends life and death, thus the "forever". It looks like Jennylyn Mercado is on a roll this 2015 with another romantic film adding up to her already good portfolio. Now if only her home network, GMA Films will only capitalized on their talent's popularity with a compelling and good script. From what we see on the premise of the film, it is probably your standard romantic film and a highly relatable one as many are still hopeful of the concept of a lasting love, while others have become too cynical about the whole idea of it. Let's see what will the next "Walang Forever" trailer be like and you'll be sure that we'll cover it for you.

The Breakup Playlist Film Trailer Review

So what is there to say about The Breakup Playlist? Well this is the first Sarah Geronimo - Piolo Pascual romantic movie from Star Cinema. Two big names when it comes to bringing "kilig" to the romantic movie going audience finally pairs up in The Breakup Playlist. With such highly adored team-up, The Breakup Playlist could very well be another blockbuster success for Star Cinema and Viva Films.

Sarah Geronimo Trixie as and Piolo Pascual as Gino in Star Cinema 2015 romantic film The Breakup Playlist

A pretty by-the-book type of a woman with a penchant for music and singing (but never following through) whose world eventually was changed once she met a guy who has a passion for music and seemingly living his life to the fullest. The two eventually fall in love but somehow the conflict comes with their passion for music and love towards each other clashing with the dreams of Sarah's parents have for her. We can say that the film's premise is pretty average, but that isn't the reason why romantic films are made. Star cinema has a knack for making blockbuster romantic films with highly likable artists that gives off "kilig-factor" with their team up. Will this be another film, where the passionate male lead eventually moves on to pursue his passion leaving the female wondering what life would be with him and if she pursued her passion, then gets reunited to reignite the flames of the past? Or eventually solve everything with the woman choosing her passion and love for the lead? Those questions plus the Piolo Pascual and Sarah Geronimo pairing could spell success for this film. The question is will you go see it?
