I Do Bidoo Bidoo Film Trailer Review

There are only a few movie trailers out there that can really hyped me up over a movie, and there are only a few of them being Filipino films, and a musical, and a comedy. This is probably the first time that I am genuinely hyped up on a comedy musical Filipino film. I Do Bidoo Bidoo caught my attention!

I Do Bidoo Bidoo 2012 Comedy Musical starring Eugene Domingo about a rich girl marrying a poor boy and the complications of union of their family of opposite walks of life

There are a couple of factors that makes this comedy musical a good trailer. The number one reason is that the film's use of the music of APO (APO Hiking Society) which have all been great OPM hits that reflects various aspects of Filipino life, love, friendship, and family. Then we come to the second best part of it, the cast. With two of the country's great comedic performers in its main cast, the comedy aspect of the film has already been covered. The comedy musical also featured other well-known Filipino music talents which covers the musical part of the film. By the looks of the trailer, it looks like Director Chris Martinez has woven these two elements of musical and comedy pretty well. The cinematography of I Do Bidoo Bidoo looks great. So far, I am pretty impressed with the films produced by Studio 5... the other one being 2010's Rosario. The question is will all the film deliver and live up to its hype? Well, I hope so because I will definitely watch this and will give my review on I Do Bidoo Bidoo come August 25, 2012.

If Eugene Domingo is in it, then it must be good. Hopefully it will be. Music has always been of Filipinos life and the Apo Hiking Society has one of the best hits that most of us have grown familiar and fond with. So what do you get when you combine comedy, musical and the Apo Hiking Society? What you get is Do Bidoo Bidoo.

I Do Bidoo Bidoo 2012 Comedy Musical Film Starring Eugene Domingo, Ogie Alcasid, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Gary Valenciano, Sam Concepcion, and Tippy Dos Santos

As what I can initially make up with the story, I Do Bidoo Bidoo is a film about family and at the center of it another teenage love story that will connect these two different families together. Hopefully with the help of two comedic icons (Ogie and Uge) and proper application of Apo Hiking Society's music, this musical comedy will make you forget the initial simplistic plot that this teaser has initially gave off. We'll have to wait for the official trailer to have a more detailed look on this 2012 Filipino musical film.

Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme
Plot / Synopsis

The Go Dong Haes are back! Kimmy and Dora (both played by Eugene Domingo) are identical twins with greatly different personalities. As told in the first film Kimmy dora: Kambal sa Kiyeme, Kimmy is the smart, dictatorial type while Dora is the slow, dumb-wit sister. However, they end up being close to each other and appreciated the love as sisters.

Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme focuses before the birth of the twins. It was a set-up arranged marriage for their father Don Luisito Go Dong Hae played by Ariel Ureta to a lady with Korean descent. Go Dong Hae refuses to mary and chose Kimmy and Dora's mother as her wife. In the present, an unexpected ghost is surfacing the family's lives and they found out that the Korean lady that is supposed to be married by their father was already dead and they need to quest for the tranquility of their lives by travelling all the way to South Korea.

Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme Film Trailer Review

There hasn't been that many newer comedy films that made me really laugh and 2009's Kimmy Dora was one of those selected few. It provided something fresh and something intelligent. It was a break from the regular and tiring mindless slapstick humor and social stereotyping that most Filipino comedy films have become. Now we have the sequel to Kimmy Dora Kambal sa Kiyeme (2009)...

Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme Lusito Go Dong Hae. Kimmy Go Dong Hae, and Dora Go Dong Hae goes to South Korea and hauntedby a white lady

While the first movie focus on the transition of Kimmy from being the villainous socialite to a less villainous socialite accepting her dim-witted and somewhat retarded sister whom she got separated at birth, Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme picks up and rewinds a bit. The humor shown in the trailers are pretty funny which made me more curious as to what more is in store for us. Well, it looks like Kimmy has not really lost her tyranny after going through her experiences and finding love in the first film. Dora on the other hand is still the same old dim-witted sister but now beloved and "accepted" by her sister, Kimmy. Eugene Domingo will once again prove her prowess in acting with playing these two different roles. I for one am pretty excited for this film, a comedy that seems to be right my alley... smart, fresh, and a little bit twisted. I just hope that it leaves up or exceed people's expectations and the hype.

My Househusband, Ikaw Na!
Plot / Synopsis

When Rod (Ryan Agoncillo), a father of two decided to quit his job, his wife (Judy Ann Santos) eventually decides to pursue a life of a career woman. As if this arrangement was not difficult enough (for an ordinary middle class Filipino family) for the two loving couple, a new neighbor (Eugene Domingo) comes along which may possibly put the couple's marriage to the test. That plus the malicious rumors spread by neighbors and the meddlesome relatives of each party. Thus the comedy ends and the family drama begins.

My Househusband, Ikaw Na! Trailer Review

Filipinos have a strong affiliation and love to their families. So when you put two highly a list of highly acclaimed and adored actors into a film about family, then that is one perfect mix of a Metro Manila Film Fest Entry this 2011.

my househusband ikaw na starring judy ann santos ryan agoncillo eugene domingo metro manila film festival 2011

The trailer is pretty much straightforward, husband loses job, wife gets an executive position, and the couple struggle with the arrangement not usually seen on traditional Filipino families. You can obviously tell where the drama would come from the trailer alone... via its meddlesome relatives (which has always been the case for most Filipino families). But that is what Filipino movie goers like... the reality of married life; and the the joys and complications that goes with it. Thanks to the real life chemistry of Judy Ann and Ryan, plus the funny and lovable aura of Ms. Eugene Domingo the movie trailer is just oozing with appeal. But do not let the humor shown in the trailer fool you as it could just hide a more heavy drama inside it. A very easy recommendation for Pinoy Movie Blogger.
